Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever had a case of imposter syndrome?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You may know the feeling. That feeling where you feel like you don’t belong or somehow you’ll be discovered as a fraud or phony. That belief that you have been given something that you didn’t earn or deserve. And that at any moment you will be exposed.

A recent study discovered that 75% of women executives have experienced imposter syndrome. So, you are not alone.

Here are some ways to overcome feeling like an imposter:

  1. Stop Comparing yourself to others-Comparison is the thief of joy. Don’t allow the feelings of insecurity and inferiority, that comes along with comparing yourself to others, to diminish your accomplishments.⠀

  2. Surround yourself with positive people-Your inner circle should be your biggest cheerleaders.

  3. Give yourself some grace-You are doing the best that you can in this moment.

  4. Take Care of Yourself-Do not forget to schedule time for self-care and rest.⠀

  5. Watch your words-Stay positive and speak to yourself with compassion and love.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If no-one has ever told you this, let me be the first to tell you. You worked hard and deserve every applause, accolade, award and good thing that comes your way.⠀⠀
