Relationships Matter

Don't Let People Forget about You!

How many of you have met someone, maybe at a networking event, conference or social gathering? You told them that you want to keep in touch. You may even have gone as far as scheduling a meeting with them. Here's the TEST!!

After that initial meeting, did you stay in touch or did you lose contact?

Building meaningful relationships takes time. And it can be increasingly challenging in our new realty of social distancing and quarantining. All relationships need to be cultivated. From your customers to your contacts. Your goal is to stay TOP of MIND. Here’s the thing. Don’t adopt the mindset that if the economy is down, that people don’t want to hear from you. In fact, this is the time to keep building your relationships and strengthening your network. There are still plenty of opportunities for you to connect.

Here are a few tips to help you stay TOP of MIND.

  • Create a networking calendar-Regularly check in with customers and contacts. Reach out and touch base with them every quarter

  • Be a Resource-Share resources and information that you come across.

  • Collaborate-I love sharing opportunities with other people in my network. I consistently look for ways to collaborate. I extend invitations to share my platform and allow my network to get in front of my audience

  • Connect-Help expand their network by making introductions.

  • Be Genuine- Be invested. Get to know the person and show genuine interest and concern. This goes a long way

So where do you start? Dig into your contacts, make a plan and set your connection goals. Start with a monthly target and get out there and start connecting.
