Developing a Roadmap for your business-Creating Standard Operating Procedures

How many of you would get on a plane with a pilot or flight crew who had no clearly written and communicated policies and procedures to get you off the ground safely to your destination?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Your business needs to have standard operating procedures in place.⠀Taking the information out your head and putting it in writing his extremely important. This is not only an excellent communication tool, it increases productivity and allows everyone to be on the same page.  Don't wait until you are ready to hire or outsource to start putting these documents together.  

Setting standard operating procedures (SOPs) is a great way to ensure that your business is running smoothly and efficiently.

  1. To start, consider the goals of your business and how you want it to be run.

  2. Then, create a plan that outlines the steps that need to be taken in order to achieve those goals.

  3. Once you have a plan, you can start to break it down into individual procedures that need to be followed.

Here's a tip: Every time you implement a new service, process or procedure, take a minute to write down the process and create checklists.

Make sure that your procedures are clear, concise, and easy to follow. Finally, train your employees on the SOPs and make sure to regularly review the procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date and being followed correctly.
